Our trip up to Vancouver was pretty uneventful. . . .well I guess you can say that except for the 3 squealing females in the car! We stopped for breakfast at McDonalds and off we went. Our trip up was smooth and the border crossing easy. Well except for when the Canadian border person wanted to know if we had a passport for George!
We dropped off our luggage and were soon on board and to our room . . .and then of course up to the Lido deck for lunch followed by a quick tour around to get our bearings and learn where things are and photo opportunities for us all. It wasn’t too long and time to change for dinner. Ahh dinner – our first in the dining room complete with table cloths, cloth napkins and the works. It was great! When it came time for dessert, nothing sweet appealed to me so I ordered the cheese plate. I thought Bratty Brat and Mom would die laughing. And so the cheese became a joke for the rest of the cruise.
After dinner we went to play a game of Name that TV Tune. We had a great time and our team won! Bratty Brat is a whiz at TV show tunes! We won hats for all and some DAM dollars. Here's my mom in her fetching hat!
After the game, they asked for volunteers so of course Nineandahalf and I decided to join in and get the fun rolling. We had no idea what we were in for. Turns out we were to be part of the show that evening. Pitted against another couple, we had 60 seconds to make a bed cruise ship style - -including towel animal. I deferred the animal making to Nineandahalf who gave all his effort in making an elephant! It resembled it somewhat . . .well if you have imagination - - - -When asked what his animal was, he told them it was an elephant that had been run over. Everyone laughed and we managed to win the prize - - -some DAM dollars and a How-To book about making towel animals. We had a great time!
Our Alaskan voyage and adventure had started!
