Mother's Day Recap

What a grand day this has been! A little low key but relaxing . . .and what more could a mother ask for?

Pool Boy called around 9 am. A little early for him . . .but the call was nice. He said he wanted to stop by so he was invited to breakfast - --biscuits and gravy. Not your usual Mom's Day faire but I had a hankering for it . .. so bisuits and gravy it was. He arrived a little sleepy-eyed with a bouquet of flowers - - -such a nice surprise.

We had a nice visit and it was too long after breakfast when Stefanie, Superman, the grandbabys and of course Lucy, the granddog, arrived for a Mother's Day surprise. They were off what has become their annual family Mother's Day trek to the ocean. The kids had planted a cute "posey" in a flower pot covered with their handprints. So while we chatted a minute and took pictures, Leo and Lucy, romped in the front yard.
Off to the ocean they went for a family Mom's Day while Kevin went on home.

Nineandahalf and I settled into our usual Sunday routine of sewing and Lifetime movies and talking about the week's activities ahead. We both were aware that despite the restful day, the next week would be full of "honey do's" as we got ready for much anticipated cruise.

The phone rang and I smiled -- - I knew it would be Furr . . and I wasn't disappointed. We chatted for quite awhile. He was busy packing and getting ready to move to his new apartment in Pullman. Living on a college budget, he apologized for not sending flowers -guess he doesn't realize yet that his phone call means so much more. He promised me a meal fixed just by him when we visit in a couple weeks and said that he knew just what he would fix. We had a nice long chat and I marveled at how the time had flown . . .and while bittersweet . .also wonderful that my "baby" and I could have a conversation as friends! we have always been able to chat easily and today was no exception!

My mom came over a little bit later and Nineandahalf treated us with a - - -what else? - - -a taco dinner. It was a great day!

Thanks to all for making me feel so special on this special day by giving up some of your precious time for me!
