As you can see - we really enjoy all of the games and contests on the ship - -gives us a chance to meet our fellow passengers and always makes for some good laughs - - This one was on us!
Once again Nineandhalf and I were selected to pay the “Not so Newlywed Game”. We had planned ahead and gone over the questions we had been asked in previous games and were sure that we would win. Our main mantra - - -well okay . .MY main mantra . . “JUST DON”T EMBARRASS ME” And so we were chosen. I just knew we bhad this one in the bag- I couldn’t have been more wrong!
There were two other couples . . One married 20 years and one married 60 years! And the questions . . .and the things people will say in public -- - amazing! Here’s a sampling of what we were asked - - -and of course we were NOT prepared for any of these questions!
· How much weight has your wife gained since you got married? (YIKES – Smart man that Nineandahalf - -he said none!)
· Which of your relatives would your husband like least to be stranded on desert island with? (Now this was funny - -and again Nineandahalf is pretty smart . . . not to air any dirty laundry here or anything . . .but he said Jack - -- - too funny - -guess that makes two of us!)
· Where is the strangest place that you have made whoopee? (Now this is where things got interesting - - -the couple married 60 years shared that their rendezvous was in their RV WHILE it was being worked on in a mechanic shop - - -and the other couple said – on a Quad in the middle of a blueberry path - oh my - -- - and when the host started singing – “I got my thrill . . . .on blueberry hill- “ I thought I might indeed wet my pants! And now for the really good part . .. . so . . you have to read the question closely - -- it says “where is the strangest place that you have made whooppe?
Now this is where Nineandahalf loses all points gained for the week . . .. Nineandahalf decided to share an incident from his younger days and announced - - “In the backseat of a car!” I was astounded . . and before I realized it our of my mouth came - - “Well, that must have been your first wife!” The place went wild with laughter . . . and after that we pretty much knew everyone on the ship as they came up to us . . . Women asking if I was “okay” and men just winking at Nineandahalf! It made for some good natured ribbing and fun .. .and was a way for us to meet and talk to many couples! All in good fun! (Yeah okay . . I am trying to be a good sport here . . .but he OWES me!
