So . . .I guess taking care of the grandbabies . . . includes “grand dog duties” as we discovered this past weekend.
The Grandbabies ( and their parents of course) took a weekend away and drove to Pullman to spend the weekend with Furrbait and see the college campus. The two granddogs were to stay at home and a neighbor girl come over to let them in and out of their kennels and feed them. These cute lab puppies, Charles and Lucy, are 9 mos old and full of mischief.
We had just settled in for a nice relaxing weekend in our jammies, when an emergency call cam from Stef. Help, Help, Help . .. she was hysterical. Apparently the puppies had been left in the house for the evening. Big mistake there after all . . they are puppies. When the little girl arrived to put them in the kennel for the night what a sight she did behold. The puppies had feasted on the pantry . . . wrappers and all . . .and of course with upset tummies and no way to get out . . well I’m sure you can imagine the sight . . and of course smell! Miles away and with no one to call on . . .Nineandhalf and myself were the closest options . . .Living less than 7 miles away now . . we were the obvious choice.
Knowing my aversion to icky smells - - -good Ole Nineandahalf .. . . got dressed and went over to take care of business . . . .and the doggie business. Oh my . .. I guess it was something . . . .He cleaned it up and went back over on Saturday and then we both went on Sunday to scrub the carpets before the family got home. He is such a trooper . . and certainly this falls outside of the normal duties for a grandpa. . .but he did it without complaint!
Well . . after all . .when we watch the grandbabies . .I take care of the diapers and other bathroom issues . .. . he’s in charge of the granddogs!

Finally Moved!
What a month! So many changes in our lives . . . .so of course we had the move. All I can say about the trauma . . .and I do mean trauma . . .of moving is that I hope to not do it again! The upside . . . well . .we found an adorable old home complete with a great landlord! We have spent the last couple of weeks painting and organizing and going thru all of our belongings. We did manage to part with several items that truthfully we didn’t even know we had! So in that respect . . moving can be a good thing!
The cats are starting to adjust . . although thru the trauma Clyde has managed to about snatch himself bald! And Leo is his usual happy go lucky self! As for Nineandahalf . . . he’s managed to smash a finger and take a hunk out of his scalp in the process!
The landlord, Lance, is great to work with . . .we can paint and do any type of improvements (within reason) and he will take it off of our rent. The place is just about complete and is oh soooo cute and very shabby chic! I love it . . . .
Pool Boy has his own “cave” upstairs and it looks really nice. He painted and did it all himself . .and it’s very masculine and nice . . .a very homey cave for him!
Our final project is the guest room . . .so any guests request . .let us know. We’ll be opening our own version of a bed and breakfast . . we give you a bed . . .you make us breakfast . .let us know when you would like us to pencil you in!
Look for pictures soon!

October 1st!
Okay . .. so our life has pretty much been turned upside in the last couple of weeks and I’ve not been updating my blog! It’s the 1st of October and so I am going back to fill everyone in on the happenings of the last few weeks! Enjoy!
So in a nutshell ( and then of course I’ll elaborate on more happenings later today) here’s the family update:
• Pool Boy moved home from South Dakota and staying with us. It’s been an adjustment for us all. He’s working part time tiling and part time at Bath and Body Works. Still looking for his niche and now even considering school as an option. We’ll see as the whole family does their best to support him!
• Furrbait started back to school and started at new job at WSU. He loves his job and college life.
• Superman is going to back to school as well and is looking at a new career field – nursing. It is never too late to pursue your dream and we all wish him the best!
• Nine and a half is going back to school in January to pursue something in forensics. Looks like we will have a family of college students of all ages!
